Zen’s BIO
I am originally from Oahu, Hawaii but I have moved all my life. I love to do anything outside, from mountain biking to skiing. I am also always down to try something new. I love to eat any kind of noodles and my favorite food is probably proper Japanese ramen. My first favorite song was Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I can play the ukulele and a little bit of guitar. My favorite artist right now is Verzache and I like to listen to all kinds of music, but mostly EDM and chill songs. My favorite place I have lived was Japan and my favorite place I have traveled to was Iceland.

How long have you been a DJ?
7 years.
How and Why did you become a DJ?
I became a DJ after DJing a school dance with an upperclassman at my 6th grade dance. I stepped up and did it because I was on student council at the time and no one else wanted to do it.
What or Who inspired you to become a DJ? Why?
I decided to continue DJing after seeing the effect that performing music had on people and the happiness it brought me and people to mix songs live. My biggest influences are the David Guetta and DJ Ravine's techniques.
Are there any upcoming events or pieces that you are currently working on?
I am currently working on a bunch of mashup ideas I have as well as some original music I am trying to produce.
What advice would you give to up-and-coming DJs?
To keep working hard and don't get discouraged by other DJs and what they can do. You enjoy DJing for your own reasons and focus on that.
Also Be Friendly! You can and will meet some amazing and cool people along the way.
Anything else you would like us to know or want us to mention in your bio?
I am a huge fan of DJing school events and it has a been a huge goal of mine to DJ at college events since coming here.
I am an avid supporter of cancer research and have DJed multiple cancer fundraising events. (Lustgarten foundation, the leukemia and lymphoma society)
I was trained to scratch on vinyl.
I am a Brother of Pi Kappa Phi!
I am half Japanese and half White.
I was resident DJ for Spokane Washington's First Night Events.
Fun Fact: I sailed the Swedish Archipelago, I visited the antipode of Washington D.C.
